iPhone X – The Wait is Over
Got in line at the Annapolis Mall Apple store about 0910 a.m. There was a substantial line but it seemed do-able. Some people had come to Annapolis from other stores because of outrageous lines. Turns out that the length of the line had little to do with the lack of movement. It went painfully slow. Apparently they not only sold phones but also helped people activate them and transfer backups from previous phones to the new ones.
I just wanted them to stuff it in the little bag, grab some accessories, and get the hell out of there. And that’s exactly what I did. Albeit four hours later….left with one iPhone X (Space Gray & 256G), AirPods, silicone protector, Mophie wireless charging base, and AppleCare+ 2-year support coverage plan.
(Note: I can’t say enough about the AirPods!! Absolutely amazing! And they work with my old iPad too. I’m more excited about those than the phone.)
And the prize:
Have to give some tribute to the retired soldiers… iPhone 1, iPhone 4, you served me well…
Did you pre-order your phone or just walk in to get one?
Just walked in. Ok, mostly stood in line. But I didn’t have a reservation or pre-order for the phone. The Apple employees were going down the line and taking reservations on the fly in case inventories ran out. I believe they ran out of Verizon iPhones rather early. One rumor in the line was that the store had 700 iPhone X’s in stock.
Good info Darold!
